“My son and I are both both treated by Dr. Dan and his staff. All aspects of the care we receive is top notch! We are always immediately greeted when we walk in the door, including a greeting from Dr. Dan himself. They are always very accommodating to our needs for scheduling. The fees are very competitive and we appreciated the promotional discounts. I am very impressed with my treatment results so far. My son was hesitant and upset about getting braces, but Dr. Dan made him feeI so comfortable. “Not sure where to start when discussing my braces journey. 10 years ago I had my first round of braces. I started in Bismarck and finished them in Wisconsin. I thought I was happy with where they were and externally they looked relatively straight. However my issues were deeper then an exterior appearance. My bite was slightly off, I was getting occasional headaches, and chewing food on one side of my mouth wasn’t comfortable. Of course I had slight setbacks in my frontal teeth and a microchip in my front tooth which I was informed by another orthodontist that it was too small to do anything with.

I walked into DK looking for a new retainer after my daughter had broke mine. My teeth were not perfect and after my husband began Invisalign I felt I should throw on the old retainers and put my teeth back into shape, that was also not really happening. I was devastated when I realized my old retainer wasn’t fixable. I had two options: create a new retainer with where my teeth were or go back into braces. I walked out of DK 3 times telling myself I was too old, didn’t want to spend the money, my teeth didn’t really need it. Deep down I knew they did and knew I wouldn’t be happy without correcting them. Dan and I joked about “one uping” my husband after he just started Invisalign and Chelsey made the procedure painless.

2 months after I began Dan made an adjustment I immediately noticed, my front tooth was pulled down longer then my other. I questioned this decision and cried when he did what others told me was too small to worry about, he filed off the microchip in my front tooth that had left me insecure since I was 8 years old chipping it on a glass cup with help from my little sister. I didn’t ask Dan in my consult to fix this, as I thought it wasn’t possible, but he knew where I stood on this and surprised me. No exaggeration, I walked out with tears in my eyes. My journey with DK was shorter then most just under 6 months, but the impact him and his staff have created will stay with me for a lifetime.

A few things I love about DK: Everyone knows my name. They know my children. I am not simply a patient on a schedule, they interact with me. There were days I had no sitter and the girls always made me feel comfortable about having to bring my 2 year old and infant in, helping entertain them when needed. They ask about my husband and kids when they weren’t with. The hours they offer are perfect for people who work 9-5 or shift work like my husband. They took out my wire when I had my teeth cleaned getting me in right before and putting it back right after.

I didn’t pick DK because of their price, their location, their estimated timeline. I picked DK because I felt like a person when I walked in. Allison at the front desk was so kind and great to get along with. Danielle helped give me an idea of what I needed done and was great to work with on finances. Chelsey, Angie and Ashly always had me laughing and gave me play by plays on what was happening at my appointments. They also didn’t get mad when I wanted to switch my chain colors to coordinate my weeks 🙂 . Dr Dan is a true class act. He did what I thought wasn’t possible. He came in with a smile to every appointment. Squeezed me in when I had to change my schedule and travel out of town. Became a sponsor for the soccer team I coach. Made me feel safe when I was terrified about getting my braces on and off. He was so in depth with everything he was doing and I loved that he knew my case and wasn’t just reading my chart every time I walked in the door, he was prepared.

My teeth look incredible. I can honestly say they are better now after going to DK then when I had them done in Bismarck and Wisconsin. If you are looking for a great experience, competitive pricing, realistic timeline and personable staff I highly recommend DK Ortho.”
